The HOA Board Meeting was held on April 2, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Chota Rec Center. After the approval of minutes from March and the Treasurer’s Report, the Board considered proposals for drawing down the cash surplus held by the HOA. Suggestions had been made to give additional funds to the Fire Department for their delivery of the HOA newsletter throughout the Village. However, according to the HOA By-Laws, charitable donations are prohibited and this could be construed as a donation. Another recommendation was made to use the funds for new decorations for the Christmas Gala. It was also pointed out that the expenses for the upcoming General Meeting could cost around $400.00. No final decision has been made yet.
The bulk of the meeting was used to discuss and firm up the subject matter and structure of the May 10th HOA General Meeting. In conjunction with the POA, a panel will address the history and future of Tellico Village. The meeting will be held at the First Community Church in order to accommodate an audience of over 200 people. The meeting will run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This is basically an informational meeting but questions will be solicited before the forum from Villagers via Constant Comment email to keep the subject matter relevant to members’ concerns. Surveys will be given out after the meeting for follow-up questions that will be addressed in the next State of the Village meeting in September.
A discussion was held about HOA Policy regarding solicitation at HOA events by outside groups or persons. Currently the policy prohibits such solicitations. Some members wanted to change the policy so that groups providing a benefit to the homeowner might be allowed within supervised space limits. No final decision was reached.
